The Challenge
Spinpanel came to us as a fast-growing scale-up with a clear objective: to be acquired by a larger SaaS provider. As their long-standing marketing partner, we worked closely with them from the ground up, positioning the brand as a credible, high-growth player in the Microsoft CSP ecosystem.
Over the course of our partnership, we evolved the brand in two major phases.
Positioning the brand towards Microsoft Partners
The first was focused on attracting their ideal customer profile (ICP), refining not just their visual identity but also reworking their value proposition, messaging strategy, and tone of voice to resonate with IT service providers and Microsoft partners. While Spinpanel had a strong solution that solved a real problem, their existing brand identity and messaging was misaligned to their target audience.
Positioning the brand for acquisition by N-able
The second evolution was in preparation for acquisition, shifting the narrative to emphasise scalability, strategic fit, and market potential.
One of the key creative challenges was maintaining their original colourful logo, which had built strong brand equity, while elevating the overall brand presence to appeal to enterprise audiences and potential acquirers like N-able. Through thoughtful brand strategy, design, and messaging, we helped Spinpanel project both continuity and maturity, making them an attractive, acquisition-ready player.
The Solution
To position Spinpanel as an acquisition-ready brand while maintaining its distinct identity, we crafted a strategic evolution of both its visual and verbal communication, designed to appeal to potential acquirers like N-able, while staying rooted in the Microsoft CSP ecosystem.
Visual Realignment with Strategic Intent
We reimagined Spinpanel’s visual identity with a deliberate shift toward a more refined and enterprise-ready aesthetic. Drawing inspiration from N-able’s brand as well as design benchmarks like Apple’s minimalism and Microsoft’s iconography, we created a cleaner, UI-focused design language that emphasised product utility and clarity over personality-driven imagery.
One of the most impactful changes was the evolution of the colour palette. While the original bright orange, green, and red tones carried strong brand recognition, we relegated them to secondary use. We introduced a deep, confident purple and trustworthy blue as the primary brand colours to subtly align with N-able’s palette, creating visual harmony that would support brand continuity in the event of acquisition.
Messaging with Maturity and Precision
In parallel with the visual overhaul, we reworked Spinpanel’s messaging architecture. We refined the tone of voice to be more mature, direct, and benefit-driven, signaling confidence and strategic value. This was anchored by a new lead tagline: “Unlock the full Microsoft experience.” This concise, benefit-led statement not only articulated the platform’s core value but also reinforced its role as an enabler within the broader Microsoft landscape.
From visual cues to narrative tone, every touchpoint was designed to make Spinpanel look and feel like a natural extension of a larger SaaS portfolio, ready for scale, integration, and acquisition.
Impact
The transformation of the Spinpanel brand and messaging repositioned them as an ideal acquisition opportunity for N-able. We were able to communicate the clear value of the product and attract additional customers in order for them to maximise their purchase value.
